Integrated Circuit
The symbol for intergrated circuits (IC) come in different forms. An IC that has a common function like a logic gate or an op-amp, usually is shown as the symbol for that function (like the schmitt-triggered inverter below). An IC that does not have a symbol for it’s function is usually shown as a box with pins and pin names (like the 555 timer below).
